From a turbulent encounter with The Comedian, Laurel, her daughter is born, who will follow in her footsteps to become Silk Spectre II. The limited comic book series was created as a means to reflect contemporary anxieties and criticize the concept of the superhero by presenting an alternative to them. They arose in the 40s and 60s years helping the United States win the war in Vietnam. There was also a 2009 movie directed by Zack Snyder, where the story takes place in 1985 and the protagonists, the Watchmen are the successors of the Minutemen.
